Alkath Group businesses Global Defence Solutions and Mellori Solutions were thrilled to once again take part in the SPBA’s (Shoalhaven Professional Business Association) Professional Snapshot program on the 7th March 2023 which offered a ‘day in the life’ of a professional experience for students in Years 10-12 from local High Schools.
Joel Sharpe, Electrical Supervisor (GDS) and Jacob Hobbs, Systems Engineer (Mellori) were kind enough to volunteer their time and share their real-life experiences working in the Shoalhaven.
The 2023 snapshot program showcased accounting, law, defence industry, engineering, surveying, allied health, human resources, strategic planning, marketing and media. The program was created to give local students exposure to local businesses through a series of practical workshops. Students get to hear first-hand the professional career opportunities available in the region, learn about career pathways and ask questions from experts in their field. Businesses share real-life experiences, give an honest representation of what professional life in the Shoalhaven is like, and can give practical advice on career pathways and study requirements.
SPBA’s Professional Snapshot in Nowra is a collaboration between the SPBA and Shoalhaven City Council, with support from the University of Wollongong Shoalhaven, businesses and high schools.
