The Women in Aviation Careers team did an amazing job of organising the FIRST Wings Over Illawarra School & Careers Open Day at Shellharbour Airport last week.
Wings Over Illawarra is Australia’s largest annual airshow, and this year, for the first time, offered students a fantastic opportunity to interact with industry professionals and explore aviation career opportunities at the Wings Over Illawarra School & Careers Open Day. The event was held on Friday 11th November with over 1,500 students from the Illawarra and Shoalhaven in attendance.

The School & Careers Open Day showcases a broad range of aviation career insights including being an engineer, working at an airport, flying drones and UAVs, being an air traffic controller, being a pilot, working in Defence, developing cutting edge industry technologies and much much more.
It was a fantastic day of education and learning to inspire students and to help them make decisions about future careers in the aviation industry. The Alkath Group team were thrilled to be involved and are already looking forward to next year’s event!
