On Friday 26 July 2019 GDS and the Shoalhaven Defence Industry Group (SDIG) were proud to host the Hon. Dr. Geoff Lee, NSW Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education at our facility at South Nowra.
Dr. Lee spoke about the beginning of the STEMship program in the Shoalhaven, which is an industry led vocational education and training (VET) pre-employment program for young people who have completed year 10. The 17 week program aims to bridge the gap between high school and university STEM programs and assists young people to gain technical apprenticeships and traineeships.
The day was attended by representatives from local council, government, industry and the participating STEMship students and their teachers.
